Comic Relief gets a fashion thumbs up 109
Comic Relief, or better known these days as Red Nose Day, hits ours screens this year on Friday 18th March and sets us all up for a cracking night of television with a little help from the BBC.
If you fancy helping a life changing cause and you’re bored of baking millions of fairy cakes or even persuading your boyfriend to get his legs waxed (if that ever gets boring!) to raise money for Comic Relief then you have come to right place.
For this years Comic Relief, our much beloved fashion icon Vivienne Westwood has designed a range of stylish t-shirts; the collection represents a unique fusion of humour and iconic historical images, including Rowan Atkinson as ‘Edmund’ and Miranda Richardson as ‘Queenie’ from Blackadder, William Shakespeare, The Laughing Audience by Hogarth, a Punk Girl and a Louis XVI lady.
These t-shirts will set you back between £5.99 and £14.99 with between £2.50 and £7.00 contributed to the particular charity.
However, not only will you bag yourself a piece of fashion history you will be ensuring that cotton farmers receive an acceptable pay for their produce as these t-shirts are fair-trade. You can get your t-shirt at any TK Maxx store today; what other excuse do we need to give you to hit the high street?
Nonetheless if many work places, schools, colleges or wherever you are on Red Nose Day are trying to encourage you to wear something red to raise money for Comic Relief then forget wearing your old red pyjama shirt and go for a ‘red hot’ look instead. Dread no more, we are here to help you support charity and look fabulous whilst doing so. Oh and cheaply of course….
Although it’s supposedly spring outside you wouldn’t think so however don’t be scared to start showing off your pins. This A line skirt will be flattering on all body shapes as it skims the hips and not only will you look fantastic, you will be bang on trend with its military style buttons. Team this little number with black tights and a black vest or a lighter coloured loose tucked in tee for a fresh day time look. Shove on some boots, or to dress it up some more, a pair of heels and you’ll be good to go.

You can pick up this beauty from River Island for just £26.99.
Leopard print is a style that never fails to be current from season to season. This leopard print vest is lightly more subtle in its print especially as it is red rather than the typical leopard colour. This would be great for our present weather as you can wear it with jeans when it’s a little bit chilly or when the weather heats up a bit (if it ever does, we can only hope), pair this vest with a denim skirt or shorts and you’re fit for a day in the sun.

Pick up this vest from your local Topshop for just £28.00
If you take a stroll down the high street today you’ll see that sleeveless dresses are everywhere; in different colours, different styles and even different cuts. This fashion piece is a must staple item for each of you in this years S/S collection. This great dress from Next is priced at just £38 and also comes in a khaki green colour which would be great for a military look. Team this dress with some sandals for a great beachy look or pair with heels or boots and some chunky jewellery if you’re spending the day at the office.
So there you go; some alternative fashion ideas if you are planning on supporting Comic Relief by wearing red this year.
