The Good, The Bad… and The Ugly! 0

Anyone who’s anyone knows that the Oscars is really about the fashion… who cares who won what, it’s who wore what that we’re interested in!

First lets talk about the good. Never thought you’d hear the name Miley Cyrus and the word fashionista in the same sentence?  Think again. The teen queen turned heads on the red carpet at this years Ceremony in a stunning strapless gown.

Paying homage to the colour of the season, nude, teamed with a simple up do, Miss Cyrus was the front runner in the style stakes.  The only thing that let her down is that she can’t seem to stand up straight, and some bad tan lines on her shoulders…somebody needs to get this girl a spray tan and tell her that hunched shoulders are not attractive!

Cameron Diaz Oscars 2010 Hot on her heels was the lovely Cameron Diaz who shone in a silver Oscar De La Renta gold strapless gown with old school Hollywood inspired hair and ruby red lips, a look that channelled timeless chic.  Metallic’s were big news this year, with Sandra Bullock, Kate Winslet, best director winner Kathryn Bigelow , Kate Beckinsale and even Dame Helen Miren all opting for silver tones.

Like Miley, Demi Moore, Dianne Kruger and Victora Beckham, dressed in her own label, all channelled sophisticated nude hues, showing the colour can be a flattering at any age.  It was nearly a case of double vision when Mamma Mia’s Amanda Syfried and Jennifer Lopez both wore very similar Armani Prive gowns, both wearing pastel tones – also a key look for this season.

And then there was the bad…

Sarah Jessica Parker did not do Carrie Bradshaw proud this year. Looking washed out in a boring satin yellow Chanel number that seemed to lack shape,  SJP looked more Brooklyn than Manhattan, and definitely loses style points for this miss-hap.

Katie Price OscarsKatie Price, when will you learn? Looking cheap and nasty in a floor length blue sequined number, Jordan failed to impress.

Mariah Carey carried on her trend of squeezing herself into clothes that are 4 sizes too small for her… and it showed. Hilary Swank looked more hooker than high end in a very revealing Armani Prive plunging gown that left little to the imagination… she certainly listened to whoever told her that less is more!
